About HumanCalculations
Last reviewed June 2, 2026
HumanCalculations started as a personal project. I kept needing quick, reliable answers for everyday math — a savings goal here, a BMI there, a retirement projection — and I was tired of digging through cluttered, ad-choked, sign-up-walled sites to get them. So I built a clean place to do the math myself. Over time it grew into a large, free library of calculators that other people found useful too.
The mission has stayed simple: make everyday math easy, accurate, and genuinely free. Whether you are planning your finances, checking a health number, pricing a product, or settling a curious question, the goal is to give you a trustworthy answer in seconds — with no account, no paywall, and no fuss.
How we build and review our calculators
A calculator is only useful if you can trust the number it gives you. These are the standards behind every tool on the site.
Accuracy first
Every calculator is built on established, widely accepted formulas and conventions — the same ones used by professionals, textbooks, and official guidance. We check the math against authoritative sources before a tool goes live.
Reviewed before publishing
New calculators and major updates are reviewed by our editorial team for correct formulas, sensible inputs and outputs, clear explanations, and edge cases — not just whether the code runs.
Kept up to date
When rates, limits, or standards change — tax thresholds, platform fees, medical conventions — we update the affected tools and content, and note when a page was last reviewed.
Free and private by design
Every tool is free with no account or paywall, and calculations run in your browser — your inputs are not sent to a server or stored. No sign-up, no data harvesting, no usage caps.
The HumanCalculations Editorial Team
“The HumanCalculations Editorial Team” is the small group responsible for the accuracy and clarity of what you read here. We research the standard methods behind each calculator, verify formulas against authoritative references, write the explanations in plain language, and review tools before they publish and when the underlying standards change. Where a topic touches medicine, finance, or another specialized field, we ground the content in established public guidance and are deliberately clear about the limits of what a calculator can tell you.
We believe in being honest about what we are: a focused team building careful tools, not a substitute for the professionals you should consult for decisions that matter. That honesty is part of the standard.
Educational tools — not professional advice
Our calculators are educational and planning tools that perform standard math with general assumptions. They are not a substitute for professional advice, and results are estimates rather than guarantees.
In particular: our health and medical calculators are not medical advice and do not replace a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified clinician; our finance, business, and tax-related calculators are not financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice; and rules, rates, and standards vary by location and change over time. For any decision that carries real consequences, please confirm the specifics with a qualified professional.
